One Week To Go!

We're one week away from our Alternative Spring Break trip to Chicago. Hopefully you've started thinking about what you want to pack, what you'd like to do and where you'd like to go while we're We have some exciting announcements to make as the day draws near.

First of all, we're happy to announce that this year's volunteer site will be The Benton House. The Benton House is a 101 year old community center located just outside of Chicago's Downtown area. Our volunteers will split into three groups with each group focussing on a different aspect of the renovation project. One group, led by Senior Interior Design student, Lindsey Ellibee will focus on giving the Benton House a fresh new look through interior design. They will add color to the walls and organize the space to make it functional and eye-catching. A second group, led by Sophomore Advertising and Graphic Design Major Jordan Edwards, will focus on The Benton House brand, updating their logo and graphic identity through the design of flyers and brochures, posters and other forms of advertising. They will also work to revamp The Benton House's Web site, www.bentonhouse.org. The third group of volunteers, led by Senior Advertising and Graphic Design Major Katie Collins, will work with members of the community by organizing programs and events throughout the week. They plan to work with age groups ranging from children to senior citizens.

We are also excited to announce that Idegy, a local merchandising provider, will be donating our group T-Shirts! T-Shirt sizes will be taken during our final meeting, Friday, March 13. If you cannot make it to the meeting, email your T-Shirt size to Charee at her CCAD address.

The next few days will be filled with last-minute preparations as we get closer to March 21.
